For over 15 years Penny Wells and Sojourn to the Past have been immersing Youngstown High School students in the history of the Civil Rights movement. In this one-time workshop, Ms. Wells will discuss the history of race in America, the principles of non-violent protest and ways individuals can make a difference in their communities. Limited to 25. A retired high school history teacher, Penny Wells and Sojourn to the Past have been widely recognized for their positive influence in the lives of Youngstown high schoolers. Ms. Wells has been honored by the Youngstown Chamber of Commerce and featured on WKBN.
